Muslim registry is preposterous

If Muslim citizens of America are asked to register, they must simply refuse.  In India people would do a jail bharo when faced with such idiotic steps. I am hoping America gets done with the hoax of muslim fear. The entire nonsense trickles down the globe.

Free software

We rest assured with the pleasant knowledge that for everything we want to do someone out there provides free software. A geek can go without cash for a long long time. Long live Github and Youtube.

Where is Julian Assange?

Julian Assange has been missing for a while now.  What do the Ecuadorian Embassy have to say about his whereabouts?  Why is the mainstream media so quiet?  Something surely is wrong with Assange.  Plenty of us really worry about his whereabouts and his well being.

More infusion of art in our lives

When we travel  we lament more the fact that there is so little good art in modern architecture.  Temples  or palaces were made with so much care and slowly. No one does that kind of stuff anymore. Instead of craftsmen the modern world must use artists more.  Would like to see more artistic bridges, airports, railway stations, and other public places. We need more art in our lives to take our minds off hate and divisions in modern society.

Fidel Castro no more

A great man dies. An era is gone. No matter what our differences this man stood for and with freedom a long long time. God bless his soul.

The quagmire that Syria has become

Syria is definitely a mess. I wonder whether a two state solution may be the way out.

American uprisings

The recent US administrations having supported the Arab Spring and other uprisings around the globe is now facing some on their own soil. Have not seen these kind of protests after an election in all my life. I think the new President will bring back some law and order America is famous for. Trump is mainly good for America. He may not be perfect but a lot of candidates who appeared perfect delivered so little. Why did Trump win with all his imperfections? The message is clear. The American public is tired of status quo. They want to try something different that might just work. I for one am surely optimistic. I am looking forward to seeing a very presidential Donald Trump.

Saudi Arabia and peace in the middle East

The key to peace in the middle east is Saudi Arabia. For a long time now Saudi Arabia has played the role of deal maker and peace maker in the region.

The way forward for Americans

The way forward today for America is the same as it was way back in the 2008 elections. A govt that genuinely seeks peace in the world and is respected because it fair and wants to do the right thing. Everyone still waits for this idea to register.

2016 Elections and the many reasons for indecision

Donald Trump: Wants to deport people, wage war against muslims, and most importantly can be scary to women. Imagine Teresa May or Angela Merkel being called pig faced or worse. Hillary Clinton: Her email scandal is not that much scary in content but the way officials have to shut up about it is definitely scary. Feels like a dictatorship. Moreover poor Assange will be roasted if she wins. One wonders who can best handle the unfinished wars of yesteryears which America can simply not ignore if it wants to stay dominant or even relevant. No clear candidate emerges this elections. As we all know it will be a leap of faith, no matter who one votes for.

Mali, Sahara, and an uprising.

Mali was such a quiet and peaceful country. And suddenly some armed men returning from Libya want to separate from Mali and form their own country. They want to take over the resources of the Sahara and develop their own people. Without ever realizing that the whole of Mali is poor. If they wanted development they should think of the whole country. Patriotism is not present in people who stayed away all their lives and are back because they have no choice. Just because they have arms does not mean they know how to govern. It is kind of sad that the peaceful people of West Africa faced so much violence in recent years.

Isis and the final US presidential election debates

Donald Trump shed light on many issues like the growing global influence of Iran. It is clear the US policies have been extremely bad for Sunnis who are Saudi aligned. They have lost homes and lives. And yet he dos not seem to notice that the oil prices are the lowest it has ever been. So really, some of those policies are not complete failures as he may like to call it. Do not like the oil for blood bargain at all. Though, no one thought that a catastrophe of such scale would happen. Many mistakes have been made. Yet, I think Hillary might be the right person to the fix the problems.

What I make of Isis

What I make of Isis is that Isis is a bunch of mercenaries or people fighting for Sunni interests. And why is the world taking sides?

Of Regime changes, wounded people, and presidential candidates

To do nothing about Syria is easy - all that one has to say is that regime change has not worked. Let Russia deal with it. And what does Russia do? Bomb some more. Who do they bomb? Isis? Hard to believe the dying children we see each day have anything to do with Isis. To really do something about Syria we must be more honest about the situation instead of blame gaming. Isis will go away when the funds go away. Isis is really only a group of mercenaries fighting for money. Bombs will scare no one except bring more fighters. Saudi Arabia, Iran, and some other Gulf countries know how to keep peace in the region. Not so much Russia. Assad needs to go. Changing his regime will not make things worse. It is already hell. It is strange that people who put up so many pictures about Palestine suffering say nothing about Alleppo. They support Assad saying that regime change is a bad idea. Regime changes has brought about a lot of problems. The truth is that it was not so bad after all. A lot of dictators went away. Why are people fighting and killing each other? In Libya, people just randomly shoot at building. What do they want? It looks like a lot of confused people killing each other without a goal. And this lack of leadership and goals cannot be tackled by US or European military whose only role so far has been joining forces with some group and dropping bombs. I say step back and let people think. Make safe zones and let leadership emerge. Who can think when bombs are dropping on their heads?

Hillary and Trump and one of the most interesting political debates

The first Trump-Hillary political debate was excellent. Still leaving room to change one's mind. Both candidates are deeply flawed and yet very engrossing. Hillary showed clearly that she can debate Trump and Trump showed he knows how to be respectful towards a lady. None of his usual put down tactics. Hillary has a track record of getting policies wrong and creating a mess. On the other hand Trump wanting to fight ISIS is a big bummer. This grand fictitious enemy out there. American people are tired of fighting. We need candidates who want to help and make the world a better place.

Responsive programming

The new era will be of responsive programming. Responsive websites are all the rage already. There is no reason why there should not be responsive operating systems. Programming for a particular screen type is dumb and an anomaly from where I see it.

Why Korea stays divided

Korea was divided by the UN in to two parts so that two super powers can rule it separately. The people did not want this division. And when North Korea wanted to unite the UN decides to keep the separation. As far as the UN is concerned what was right for north should be right for south too. To fight to keep the separation was not logical. Koreans are not logical to not see this. They need to unite and vote for a democracy.

The Bill of Hillary.

Bill Clinton being attacked. Imagine digging in to the lives of wives of politicians!! There will be hell to pay. I bet Hillary would be happier if people were interested in her own romantic escapades. Hillary Clinton has to answer for some bad actions from some men in her life. Like Bill Clinton's affairs or Obama's policies. I do not know why she even tries answering. For example questions on Failed foreign policy? Ask Obama.

Obama in Cuba

Its wonderful to see Obama in Cuba. Very nice move from a departing president. 2016 is truly a beginning of a new era.

Should India be worried when Trump does not say too many times that Indians are stealing US jobs?

Donald Trump mentioned China, Japan, and Mexico as US job thieves many many times in his presidential campaign. India did not appear too many times in that slot. Just a decade ago Indians were considered the top American job thieves. It is well known that Indian students are among the best in the world. The dot busters of New Jersey feared them. Subsequently, the Silicon valley programmers hated Indians. What happened over the years? How did the fear go away? Mainly because Indians were disposable, faced glass ceilings at corporate and academic jobs, and the fear slowly went away. Indians working abroad mainly have an option of living with glass ceilings and making enough money to retire in India. Very few people can pursue their incomplete careers in India. India has very little room for highly trained scientists. India being a huge market can always have sufficient rich people by just taking care of basic needs of their own people. On the other hand, the medical professionals were among the first people to face discrimination in the global arena. They had no choice but to make it good in India. So now India has a medical care system that can compete with any country in the world which has scope of becoming infinitely better. Indian medicine has not sufficiently tapped in to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda yet, but it is only a matter of time that Indian medicine will be the best in the world. Space, Medicine, and Nuclear energy, where Indian scientists could not export themselves, are the fields that India has done well. But other fields like Computer science, India is way behind China. In conclusion, India is not in Trump's radar because Indians are no longer taking jobs American want. Moreover, China, Japan, and Mexico took American jobs to their own countries. That makes a whole world of difference.

Islam hates America says Donald Trump

Donald Trump says "Islam hates America" and everyone is shocked and protesting. He is supposed to be crazed. But then in a long time now American policies have assumed that Islam hates America. But they say they are only worried about radical Islam. So when they spy on you or discriminate against you if you are Muslim it is only because they are afraid of radical Islam. To say it like it really is - is disgusting. As we all can see from the protests.

The economic numbers of journalists

Its funny how at presidential debates journalists ask presidential candidates questions like how they will bring in 150 million dollars to save social security. These basic expenses costs nothing. But education, health care, and social security are the first places that corrupt governments will want to go because that will create the sense of poverty very effectively. Regular people then do not see the billions of tax dollars that go in to unwanted wars and stupid deals. I agree with Trump that cutting waste, fraud, and abuse will take care of social security. Bringing back jobs or creating new jobs will be more of a challenge.

The GOP presidential race in 2016

I must say the Republican party has given a lot of choice in this election. Kept it very real with a lot of walls falling. If people do not like political correctness, oh boy! The Republican party debates have been anything but politically correct.

Exit interviews for American companies

Perhaps the American govt could have taken steps to prevent mass exodus of American companies from the country. The only companies America has managed to retain might be the software companies. And we see plenty of govt activity in these companies. Moreover, many politicians are stock owners in these industries.

A closer look at Donald Trump

When Donald Trump first came to the political scene I thought he would not last. I only knew him as someone in the news because of his big fights with Rosie Odonell. His controversial statements about immigration etc made me take a closer look at Mr. Trump. I watched the show Apprentice and I liked it. But I like the Mr. Trump before this show. He was a man who saw opportunity and made profit. Like regular Americans, he works hard to succeed and is not dishonest. He has an history of turning struggling projects to success stories. No wonder he is popular and I do think he can make America great again.
